About me I am a self employed software engineer and free and open source software enthusiast. As an altruist I enjoy making the world a better place, having fun and learning in the process. Hence my involvement with MediaWiki, the software the powers Wikipedia and many other wikis. I have been programming since 2008 in various environments and am currently familiar with about a dozen languages. I successfully participated in Google Summer of Code 2009 and 2010 as a student and in GSoC 2011 and 2012 as a co-mentor. All my recent work is freely available on the web, so you can Google me to find projects I've worked on next to the ones listed on this page. Ohloh profile for Jeroen De Dauw

MediaWiki
I've been contributing to MediaWiki, which powers Wikipedia and is the most widely used wiki software, since summer 2009, and am currently in the top 5 of all time contributors. I'm doing contracted work for the Wikimedia Foundation, WikiWorks and other MediaWiki related organizations or companies as well as volunteer work. More info can be found on my MediaWiki.org user page
Semantic MediaWiki
I am one of the core developers and maintainers of Semantic MediaWiki, the groundbreaking wiki software that combines the collaborative features of wikis with semantic data handling.

Feeds: SMW news (RSS)
Wikidata
I am one of the developers working on Wikidata, which aims to create a free knowledge base about the world that can be read and edited by humans and machines alike. It will provide data in all the languages of the Wikimedia projects, and allow for the central access to data in a similar vein as Wikimedia Commons does for multimedia files.
